Modern Interior Design in a San Diego Luxury Home

>> Next Interior Design Portfolio

This 12,000 square foot residence in the San Diego area, designed in collaboration with Howard Oxley Associates Architecture, is oriented to a southern exposure with distant vistas. The architecture is reminiscent of Corbusier and Richard Meier.

The modern interior design has been softened by the material palette used throughout, which includes Indian Rajah slate floors, flat cut medium-stained cherry cabinetry, and figured anigre accent walls. The two-story fireplace is finished in eggplant-colored waxed plaster, and has an arc of vertical panels of oil-rubbed bronze. Waxed Italian plaster in a saddle-leather color is used in the master seating area. At the clients’ request, deep “jewel tone” colors were used throughout.

The three bathrooms shown in this project demonstrate the variety of possibilities in creating contemporary bathroom designs.
